Hope

(This is an excerpt from the book The Gospel of Second Chances by Lloyd D. Newell.)

Hope is so much more than positive thinking or an optimistic outlook. True hope is found deep in the heart and is expressed through meaningful work and worthwhile activity. It is manifested in service, sacrifice, and selflessness. It is when hope becomes an active, “lively hope” that we truly discover a higher power and greater purpose in life (1 Peter 1:3). Then our hope becomes an assurance that things can change for the better— that we can change for the better.
