The Atonement is Relevant Daily

Twitter

(This is an excerpt from the book The Gospel of Second Chances by Lloyd D. Newell.)

If you ever wonder about the daily relevance of the Atonement, remember the account of Peter walking on the water. When he became fearful and began to sink, Peter cried out for the Lord to save him, “and immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him” (Matthew 14:31). The Lord will be there for us. God’s gift of renewal and rebirth, of rescue and hope, of peace and joy can be with us every step of the way—not just on Judgment Day.
