This is an excerpt from You Are More , by Carmen Rasmusen Herbert.
“I was able to share my testimony and a little of what I believed with them. And when I did, something amazing happened. Instead of making fun of me or saying I was silly for believing the way I did, my fellow contestants went overboard to try to protect me. They kept saying they didn’t want to ‘corrupt’ Carmen. They wanted to keep me clean and pure. Isn’t that interesting? They could see that I was different, and they wanted me to stay that way. So I not only had a lot of pressure from family and friends back home to stay true to who I was, but now my new friends and competitors were watching me too.”
