Seminary and Institute teachers Lori Newbold and Emily Wright have a combined experience of over twenty-five years teaching and have taught over 30,000 students in their various classrooms. They consider their professions of working with and teaching youth to be the best jobs in the world.

Lori

Lori, a Utah native, went to Brigham Young University, then later earned a master’s degree in mental health counseling. Serving a mission in Cincinnati, Ohio, helped start her on her path to becoming a religious educator. A self-proclaimed chocolate milk connoisseur, being the favorite aunt is pretty much her favorite thing.

Emily

Emily earned a degree from Brigham Young University in physical education, not knowing her path would lead to a career as a religious educator for teens and young adults. While she loves being in the classroom where she can talk about the gospel, one year, her high school students convinced her to get on stage and be part of their version of Dancing with the Stars. Emily learned a student-choreographed dance then performed it with them, even though she would have been more comfortable challenging them on a basketball court, a sport she’s played since she was young. Her mission to Florida remains one of her most cherished experiences in life, second only to being “Aunt Emily” to her nieces and nephews.
